PNL Top Batter Trophy Won by Taylor Wednesday, August 1st , 1962 For a rookie just breaking in, Mel Taylor certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the PNL Batter of the Month award for July. The 19-year-old center fielder for the Boise Bobcats hit .349 with 9 home runs, 18 RBIs and 30 runs scored. In 90 games Taylor is hitting .332 this season with 102 hits, 12 home runs, 46 RBIs, 32 walks, .393 OBP and has scored 58 runs. |
