Penny Player of the Week, Cook of Elmira Monday, July 2nd , 1962 It was announced today that Elmira shortstop Brian Cook snagged the Pennsylvania-New York Baseball League Player of the Week Award for his outstanding play last week. He posted a .500 batting average as he collected 13 hits, 3 home runs and 9 RBIs. This season Cook has delivered 61 hits in 233 at-bats for a .262 average with 12 home runs. He is getting on base at a .364 clip and his totals also include 35 RBIs and 40 runs scored. This year Cook has played in 60 games. |
