Palmer Picks Up Best Penny Batter Honors for August Saturday, September 1st , 1962 Ron Palmer used that sweet swing with great success for Geneva last month, garnering him the Pennsylvania-New York Baseball League Batter of the Month award. The 19-year-old center fielder put up a .338 batting average and collected 5 home runs, 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored. In 120 career games, Palmer has put up a .264 average, collected 9 doubles, no triples, and 15 home runs, driven in 58 runs, and scored 49 times. |
