The last holdouts on the single-uniform front, New York and Philadelphia, gave in and adopted separate home and road uniforms this year. Along with Pittsburgh, the Knicks and Quakers also adopted an abbreviated collar flap that would become the prevailing style within a few years; meanwhile, Baltimore adopted the military-style collar introduced by Boston the previous season. The Lords also introduced a plain, unadorned look for their home jerseys and caps; while never gaining significant popularity, this austere look would crop up now and again on other teams’ outfits before dying out in the late-1930’s. |
