The Cincinnati Packers are one game away from a sweep of the World Series after stifling the Toronto Hurons by a score of 8-0 at Dominion Field today. Packers left-hander Fred Ahrens had a strong performance. He threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. Cincinnati now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Ahrens gave Cincinnati a solid start. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 9 innings.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Jim Burns.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dominion Field in Toronto.
