Bulls Edge Bobcats 5-4 to Open LCS
|
The Kansas City Bulls started the League Championship Series in style today, winning on the road against the Cleveland Bobcats at Lakefront Stadium by a score of 5-4 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Bulls right-hander Charlie Hickman threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Bob Fesmire to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulls on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Kansas City manager DD Martin.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lakefront Stadium in Cleveland.
