Host Bluebirds Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
In a pivotal Game 5, the New York Knickerbockers were hoping for a big game from starter Dave Torre. They got one.

The right-hander shut out the Brooklyn Bluebirds, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 2-0 victory. The Knickerbockers took the 2-0 win over the Brooklyn Bluebirds to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Charlie Fee, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Fee contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put New York up, 2-0.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Torre said after the game.

Game 6 is scheduled for Friday at Knickerbocker Stadium in New York.
