The New York Knickerbockers got a great start from 34-year-old right-hander Jose Espinoza, as New York won the contest, 6-1, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Espinoza threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball in the win, which allowed the New York to grab a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Espinoza gave New York a solid start. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 7 hits over 9 innings.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Espinoza.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Knickerbocker Stadium in New York.
