Seagulls Clip Wolverines, 3-2, in DR Contest
The San Francisco Seagulls have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Detroit Wolverines, winning, 3-2, at Mission Field. Seagulls right-hander Tim Stambaugh threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Seagulls to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Divisional Round.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Chuck Shaffer hit a single. The Seagulls went on to win.

Stambaugh called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Wolverine Field in Detroit.
