The Dallas Wranglers got a great start from 35-year-old left-hander Charlie Sokol, as Dallas took the 3-1 win at Sam Houston Field over the series-leading Houston Drillers. Sokol threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball and helped Dallas close their deficit to 2 games to 1 in the best-of-7 series.

Dallas used a well-timed hit by John Hammit to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Wranglers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Every loss hurts," said Houston manager Tom Harrington. "But this was a tough one."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sam Houston Field in Houston.
