White Blasts Industrials, Traders Take Game 5, 7-3
|
The Chicago Traders have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Pittsburgh Industrials, winning, 7-3, at Union Field. Traders catcher Ed White went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win cuts the deficit facing the Traders to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Divisional Round.
There was more than one reason the Traders beat the Industrials, but White's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-1 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said White.
Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Allegheny Field in Pittsburgh.
