The Boston Terriers picked up a win at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, taking down the Atlanta Generals, 6-2. Starting pitcher Bruce Shurtleff was a big reason why. Shurtleff yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 11-2. The loss makes Atlanta 28-44.

Boston second baseman Roberto Alvarez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 81st hit of the season and put the Terriers ahead, 3-0.

"I was able to really locate my pitches tonight," said Shurtleff.
