Explorers Get Clonked by Burros, 6-0
|
Spirited fans greeted the St. Louis Explorers for their clash with the Denver Burros.
Denver got a strong outing from Keith Williams as the Burros defeated the St. Louis Explorers, 6-0, at Corps of Discovery Stadium. Williams picked up the win for Denver, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-2.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tom Clark? The Denver catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Burros on top, 3-0. For the game, Clark had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Keith was dictating to their hitters," said Denver manager Clark Anderson.
Denver is now 46-28, 4 games up in the National Baseball League Western Division.
