Knickerbockers Sneak Past Bobcats, 2-1
|
Doug Leonard pitched well, but the Cleveland Bobcats still lost the game, falling 2-1 to the New York Knickerbockers at Knickerbocker Stadium. New York now sits at 42-32, while Cleveland falls to 35-39.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With New York trailing 1-0, Charlie Fee hit a cutter from Doug Leonard to right-center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Knickerbockers had a walk-off win.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Fee told the New York Herald. "Whatever it takes."
