Keough Lifts Industrials to 9-8 Win
The Pittsburgh Industrials defeated the New York Knickerbockers, 9-8, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Leading the charge for Pittsburgh was left fielder Don Keough. He went 3-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Pittsburgh reliever Denny Grissinger picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Ollie Hundley took the loss. Pittsburgh has now won 3 in a row.

Tommy Simpson drew 1 walk for Pittsburgh. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ollie Hundley. It was his 5th RBI of the season.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Simpson said.
