Lords Slip Past Montreal, 2-1
|
The Baltimore Lords got a magnificent performance from pitcher Larry Diego, who stifled the Montreal offense en route to a 2-1 Lords win at Seton Hill Stadium. Baltimore reliever Gary Webb picked up the win to move to 1-0. Jerry Meek suffered the loss. The Habitants, now 37-37, have lost 4 straight.
Jim Pavlik was the walk-off hero for Baltimore. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lords second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Baltimore manager Jordan Wells.
