Hurons Pull Out Late-Game Win, 3-2
|
The Toronto Hurons eked out a 3-2 win versus the Montreal Habitants at Dominion Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Mike Beers. He was terrific. The win went to Larry Haddock in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dave Quinlan took the loss. The win takes Toronto to 4-4.
The Hurons got a clutch hit from second baseman Ron Paige. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Hurons.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Beers.
