Dallas Dismisses Baltimore, 4-2
|
Dallas pitcher Charlie Sokol did his part in helping his team beat the Baltimore Lords, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Sokol, now 9-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Frank Dunn recorded the save, making him 21 for 24.
John Hammit, who is a two-time All-Star, chipped in a solo home run for Dallas in the top of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Charlie executed his pitches at a high level," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
The win puts Dallas at 40-37 this season.
