Ward Hits Two Homers in 6-4 Win for Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Industrials used the hitting of left fielder Lew Ward to subdue the New York Knickerbockers, 6-4. For the game, Ward belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Ray Williams recorded the save for Pittsburgh, his 11th of the season. New York has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Randy Claire drove in one run for Pittsburgh. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Brian Williams. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

"I still think this team can play even better," Ward told the Pittsburgh News.
