Dairymen Lose By a Run at Pittsburgh, 3-2
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials did just enough to secure a victory over the Milwaukee Dairymen, 3-2, at Allegheny Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Dennis Jackson. Jackson got the win, improving to 8-5. He allowed 8 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Jackson allowed 1 run. Earning the save was Bob Cole. He's now cashed in 10 of 16 save opportunities.
Don Keough, the 15th overall pick in the 1959 draft, chipped in for Pittsburgh with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley said following the tough loss.
The National Baseball League Eastern Division-leading Industrials are 53-26.
