Cleveland Stopped, 3-1, by Brooklyn
|
In a tight contest between the Brooklyn Bluebirds and the Cleveland Bobcats, Larry Mitchell was the determining factor. The Brooklyn right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. Mitchell picked up the win for Brooklyn, going 8.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Bob Hill got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
Brooklyn took a 3-0 lead on Ron Freeman's 13th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Freeman hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Cleveland pitcher Frank Rudin visibly frustrated.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Mitchell.
The loss makes Cleveland 40-38.
