Heath Silences Kansas City, 6-0
|
The Kansas City Bulls manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the San Diego Captains. The Bulls were overpowered by San Diego starter Ray Heath, who hurled his club to victory, 6-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," DD Martin said.
Over 9 innings, Heath blanked Kansas City on 4 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Heath said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
In 18 starts this season, Heath has notched a 10-1 record and a 2.53 ERA.
