Packers Grind Out 2-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Cincinnati Packers and the Philadelphia Quakers, pitcher Alex Fonseca was the difference between victory and defeat. The Cincinnati left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-0 Packers win. Kenny Foster notched his 1st save in 1 chances. The Packers improved their record to 35-42 by beating Philadelphia.
The Packers had to work out of trouble with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 2-0, Cincinnati. But Philadelphia, with the bases empty, had mounted a threat. Preston Lee dug in at the plate. But on a first pitch changeup, Lee grounded out.
