Drillers Handle Seattle, Snag 7-1 Win
|
Angel Colon was locked in. The right-hander led the Houston Drillers to a 7-1 win against the Seattle Emeralds at Sam Houston Field. The victory puts Houston at 31-46.
Jackie Frost had a big bases-clearing double for the Drillers in the bottom of the third inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Denny Goldberg, the 15th overall pick in the 1965 draft, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Drillers ahead, 4-0.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Frost.
