Eagles Deal Cincinnati 4-1 Defeat
Washington Eagles starter Dave Alexander turned in a top-notch performance against the Cincinnati Packers at Roman Arena. The result was a win for the Eagles, 4-1. Washington, at 30-46, holds down last place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.

Washington used a clutch at-bat from Vince Marshall to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Dave -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Eagles manager Brandon Tucker. "He was the key to us winning."
