The Boston Terriers picked up a win at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, taking down the Toronto Hurons, 6-2. Starting pitcher Ken Torkelson was a big reason why. Torkelson, now 6-7, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Boston is now 34-42, Toronto 34-46.
The Terriers got a big at-bat from shortstop Bob Madaras. For the game, Madaras was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Boston a 4-1 lead.
"I always intend to finish what I've started," said Torkelson.
