The Pittsburgh Industrials took New York pitcher Chris Hull's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Allegheny Field. The final score had Pittsburgh getting past the Knickerbockers, 3-2. Hull went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 5. The Industrials sport a record of 54-26.

Pittsburgh won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Tim McGovern on the mound for New York, center fielder Jerry Hunter hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Industrials fans to their feet.
