McNeely, Lords Too Much for Northmen
|
The bad news for the Twin Cities Northmen: an opening day loss, 6-2, to the Baltimore Lords at Twin Cities Stadium. The good news: it was just game one in a long season. No one played better than Tim McNeely. He was 4 for 5 with 3 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was John Gannon. He tossed 110 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits.
Baltimore took a 6-2 lead on McNeely's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Rick Lindstrom in the top of the seventh, propelled Baltimore to the win.
