Baird Pitches 2-0 Shutout
|
The Cleveland Bobcats did little to support starter Myron Baird against the Philadelphia Quakers, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Quakers, striking out 5 and surrendering 4 hits. The performance from Baird allowed Cleveland to escape with the 2-0 win, despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said, 'Myron, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Baird told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
This year, Baird has posted a 8-3 mark in 16 starts and has a 2.79 ERA.
