The home crowd had a good time watching the Cleveland Bobcats and New York Knickerbockers get after it.

The Cleveland Bobcats had their hands full with New York Knickerbockers starter Dave Torre, who frustrated Cleveland hitters while leading New York to a comfortable, 10-1 win. After today's action, New York sits at 42-36, while Cleveland falls to 42-37.

Rick Hotz had a big 2-run home run for the Knickerbockers in the bottom of the second inning. With New York leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Rick Tomlinson and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Knickerbockers on top, 3-0.

"We hit the ball hard," said New York manager Timothy Widholm. "Line drive after line drive."
