Bobcats Use Late Rally to Win 8th Straight
The exploits of shortstop Mark Bassett helped the Cleveland Bobcats defeat the New York Knickerbockers, 4-2. Bassett went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. The winner was Chuck Galloway in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Brian Williams took the loss. Cleveland has now won 8 in a row.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Phil Chirico was at the plate when Cleveland scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Bobcats to go in front, 3-2.

"We're on quite a roll right now," said Bassett.
