Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Detroit Wolverines and Boston Terriers.

Pitcher Doug Fiorentino was sensational for the Detroit Wolverines in his team's 5-0 triumph over the Boston Terriers. Fiorentino earned the win. With the win, Detroit upped its record to 45-35.

Detroit took a 2-0 lead on Dave Cox's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Cox hit in the top of the seventh, left Boston pitcher Bruce Shurtleff visibly frustrated.

Detroit manager Kurt Peterson called it "a good, solid win."
