The New York Knickerbockers got a good effort from starter Jack Forbes in defeating the Philadelphia Quakers at Quakers Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Tim Fried closed it out for New York, earning his 2nd save. New York now has a record of 43-39 with the win.
New York used a well-timed hit by Bob Marston to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knickerbockers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Marston said.
