Quakers Deal Knickerbockers 2-1 Loss
In a low-scoring contest between the Philadelphia Quakers and the New York Knickerbockers, Bob Freeland was the X factor. The Philadelphia left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Freeland got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. With the win, Philadelphia upped its record to 44-38.

Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Ken Terry to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Quakers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Freeland said.
