Terriers Thwart Generals, 3-1
|
The Boston Terriers used a great performance from Tim Jepperson, who is tied for 7th in the ABL with a 6.5 K/9 rate, to beat the Atlanta Generals, 3-1, at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Jepperson, the winner, moves to 6-5. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. The last-place Terriers bumped their record to 33-48.
The Terriers got a big at-bat from second baseman Roberto Alvarez. For the game, Alvarez was 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 13th double of the season gave Boston a 1-0 lead.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Jepperson.
