Wolverines Upend Habitants, 5-1
|
Spirited fans greeted the Montreal Habitants for their clash with the Detroit Wolverines.
Larry Black was locked and loaded, helping the Detroit Wolverines beat the Montreal Habitants, 5-1. Detroit goes to 50-31. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
Detroit relied on the hitting of Jim Caldwell to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Wolverines on top, 3-0. For the game, Caldwell had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Black told a Detroit Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
