The Philadelphia Quakers rode a solid performance from 29-year-old starting pitcher Juan Ramirez to a win, beating the New York Knickerbockers, 3-1, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Ramirez got the win, improving to 8-5. He gave up 5 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Philadelphia has now won 3 in a row.

Luis Banda came through with a big-time hit for Philadelphia. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
