Pobladores Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
Twin Cities Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Los Angeles Pobladores and Twin Cities Northmen.
Los Angeles second baseman Manuel Castillo contributed significantly to his team's 3-2 win over the Twin Cities Northmen. Castillo, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in bases on balls with 53, went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Pobladores. Los Angeles pitcher Jim Arndt got the win, upping his record to 6-5. Rick Lindstrom got the loss.
Castillo had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 curveball from Rick Lindstrom, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Pobladores a 3-2 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Castillo.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Castillo.
With the win, Los Angeles upped its record to 42-39.
