Slumping Bulls Lose 6th Straight
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old shortstop Tom Guinn, the St. Louis Explorers stopped the Kansas City Bulls, 4-1, in 9 innings. The current losing streak for Kansas City has reached 6 games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Guinn hit a splitter from Tom Mitchell for a 3-run home run. The Explorers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I'm as polite as the next guy," said Guinn. "But not when the game's on the line."
