Boston Gets Another L
The Detroit Wolverines picked up a win at Wolverine Field, dropping the Boston Terriers, 6-2. Scott Litwak, who finished 3rd in the ABL in wins with 18 in 1971, was the difference-maker. The winner was Litwak. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Tim Jepperson. The Wolverines raised their record to 8-1.

Duane Simmons had a big 2-run home run for the Wolverines in the bottom of the third inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a cutter from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Tim Jepperson and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Wolverines on top, 3-0.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Simmons.
