Montreal right fielder Tim Delaney was instrumental in helping the Habitants triumph, 5-3, over the New York Empires. Delaney went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The save was credited to Mark Weeks, his 3rd. The win makes Montreal 46-38.

Delaney had a timely hit for Montreal in the bottom of the seventh. With Montreal trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Montreal.

"Tim was ready to go. Big day for him," said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
