Jim Brookins had a good game, but he could not keep the Los Angeles Blockbusters from falling, 7-6, to the Milwaukee Dairymen at Blockbuster Stadium. The Los Angeles right fielder was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Bernie Kirk earned the save for Milwaukee, his 7th of the year. At 38-46, the Dairymen claim 6th place in the National Baseball League Western Division.

Cliff Bragg went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 for Milwaukee. The 31-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Cardell Franklin. It was his 30th RBI of the season.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Bragg, "but we got it done."
