Quakers Rally to Tally 3-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Art Wohlt took care of business, helping the Philadelphia Quakers stifle the New York Knickerbockers, 3-2. The winner was Wohlt. He threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Brian Williams. The save went to Bill Smith, number 4 for him.
Luis Banda, who signed a 2-year contract worth $150,000 on 01/31/1974, helped out the Philadelphia cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.
"I thought Art threw the ball well across the board," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Quakers.
