Swanee Law pitched well, but his team, the Los Angeles Pobladores, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Dallas Wranglers at Bluff Park. Bill Malcuit, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 10-3. The save was credited to Barry Gilmore, his 10th.
Had Frank Price not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Price hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Wranglers.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Wranglers manager William Albrecht, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
The Wranglers lead the American Baseball League Western Division by 14½ games.
