Eagles Beaten By Bulls, 3-2
|
The Kansas City Bulls picked up a win at Monument Field, topping the Washington Eagles, 3-2. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Mike Brown. He played a principal role in the triumph. Bob Crosby got the save, his 20th in 25 chances. The Bulls improved their record to 48-38 with the win over Washington.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Stan Heath to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bulls on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We were in it," said Washington manager Brandon Tucker. "We just didn't score enough runs."
