Seagulls Deal Northmen 3-1 Loss
|
The San Francisco Seagulls got a good effort from starter Dennis Fulton in defeating the Twin Cities Northmen at Twin Cities Stadium. The final score was 3-1. Jeff Butler notched his 5th save in 6 chances. San Francisco goes to 55-31. The win puts them 8½ games up in their division.
San Francisco used the hitting of Scott Wagner to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Seagulls on top, 2-0. For the game, Wagner had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Dennis was Dennis," said Seagulls manager Al Borie. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
