Flakes Delivers Walk-Off Win for Industrials
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials locked up a win at Allegheny Field, knocking off the New York Knickerbockers, 6-3. On the mound for Pittsburgh was right-hander Jeff Munoz. He played a major role in the triumph. Pittsburgh pitcher Ike Travis earned the win, hiking his record to 4-3. Bruce Orrick suffered the loss. The first-place Industrials have won 5 straight games.
Pittsburgh got a knockout punch from Johnny Flakes. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker.
