Industrials Absorb 4-0 Loss at Knickerbocker Stadium
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials went down to defeat to Bruce Owen and his New York teammates. The final score was 4-0, in favor of the Knickerbockers. The winning pitcher was Owen, now 9-6. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. With the win, New York has a record of 44-41. Pittsburgh falls to 56-31.
The game was scoreless in the bottom of the fifth, when Owen hit a sacrifice fly to put his team in front, 1-0. All told, Owen threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball.
"Bruce is one tough son of a gun," said New York manager Timothy Widholm.
