Northmen Win, 4-2, Versus Los Angeles
|
Twin Cities Northmen starter Ben Hall was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Los Angeles Pobladores, 4-2. Rick Lindstrom picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-6. Leon Fairley, the 18th overall pick in the 1963 draft, was tagged with the loss. Twin Cities now sits at 39-47, while Los Angeles falls to 45-43.
Twin Cities used the timely hitting of John Kinney to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Northmen on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Ben's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
