Industrials Deal Dairymen 3-1 Defeat
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials went home winners at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Roger Long. Long stifled the Milwaukee Dairymen, enabling Pittsburgh to grab the 3-1 win. Long went the distance for Pittsburgh. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. Pittsburgh is now 61-29, 12 games up in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
Don Keough, the 1966 NBL home run champion , had a direct impact on the outcome. Keough contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Pittsburgh up, 3-1.
Long attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
