On Road, Montreal Beats Boston, 7-1
|
Boston had no answer for 29-year old left-handed pitcher Lawrence Connor. The Montreal Habitants starter stymied Terriers hitters, helping the Habitants cruise to victory, 7-1. With the win, the Habitants improved to 44-44.
Montreal used a well-timed hit by Jim Compton to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Habitants ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Connor.
