Explorers Earn 6-1 Home Win

The St. Louis Explorers rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Jorge Gonzalez to a win, beating the San Diego Captains, 6-1, at Corps of Discovery Stadium. With the win, the Explorers sit at 47-43.
In the bottom of the second, St. Louis third baseman John Darnell had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Darnell stroked a 2-run single to left-center. It made the score 3-0, St. Louis. For the game, he went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Gonzalez.
